Install NoetixViews Workbench

Before beginning the installation, you need to make sure that the prerequisite are met. For information about the prerequisites, see Prerequisites for Installation in “Prerequisites.”

During the installation of the NoetixViews Workbench, the reference schemas pertaining to the NoetixViews versions that are required for the upgrade of your NoetixViews Workbench customizations will also be loaded. For information about upgrading customizations, see the MagnitudeNoetixViews Workbench Help.

This section explains how to install NoetixViews Workbench.

To install NoetixViews Workbench

Double-click the Workbench-<version>-windows-x64.exe file. The welcome page of installation wizard is displayed.

Click Next to continue. The Software License Agreement page is displayed.

Click I Agree. The Choose Start Menu Folder page is displayed.

Enter a folder name for the NoetixViews Workbench that you want to add to the Start menu. The default folder name is NoetixViews Workbench. If you select a Start menu folder name from the list, the default name is added to the end of the selection. If you do not want to create shortcuts for the product on the Start menu, select the Do not create shortcuts check box, and then click Next. The Oracle Client
Location
page appears.

Click Next. The NoetixViews Workbench Repository page is displayed.

Select one of the options:

If you want to create a NoetixViews Workbench repository, click Create new repository for NoetixViews Workbench, and go to next step.

If you want to reuse an existing repository, click Reuse repository from a previous installation, and go to step 10.

After selecting the option for creating a repository, click Next. The Application Repository Location page is displayed.

Do the following:

In the list that appears, select the database in which you want to create the repository.

In the User Name and Password boxes, type the user name and password for a database account with administrative privileges.

Click Next. The NoetixViews Workbench Repository Owner page appears.

Provide the following information about the new repository, and go to step 12.

Type the user name and password for the new NoetixViews Workbench repository, and confirm the password.

The user name must begin with a letter, should not exceed 30 characters, and can be a combination of one or more of the following characters: lower case letters (a-z), upper case letters (A-Z), numbers (0-9), the dollar sign ($), the number sign (#), and the underscore ( ).

Select the default tablespace and the temporary tablespace.

In the Default Tablespace list, do not select the SYSTEM tablespace because it is used by Oracle E-Business Suite.

After selecting the option for reusing the existing repository on the NoetixViews Workbench Repository page, click Next. The Existing NoetixViews Workbench Repository Owner page is displayed.

Provide the following information about the existing repository:

Type the user name and password for the NoetixViews Workbench repository owner.

In the TNS Name list, select the database that contains the repository.

Click Next. The Ready to Install page appears with the options you have selected.

Review the information, and click Install. The progress of the installation is displayed.

Optionally, click Show details. The log details of the installation process is displayed. After the installation is complete, the Installation Complete page appears.

The installation log will be saved at the <installation folder>\Noetix\Noetix Enterprise Manager\Cartridges\NoetixViews Workbench location.

Click Next. A message will be displayed stating that the Noetix Views Workbench installation has been completed successfully.

Click Finish. The installation wizard is closed.

To install NoetixViews Workbench

Double-click the Workbench-<version>-windows-x64.exe file. The welcome page of installation wizard is displayed.

Click Next to continue. The Software License Agreement page is displayed.

Click I Agree. The Choose Start Menu Folder page is displayed.

Enter a folder name for the NoetixViews Workbench that you want to add to the Start menu. The default folder name is NoetixViews Workbench. If you select a Start menu folder name from the list, the default name is added to the end of the selection. Click Next. The NoetixViews Workbench Repository page is displayed.

Select one of the options:

If you want to create a NoetixViews Workbench repository, click Create new repository for NoetixViews Workbench, and go to next step.

Review the information, and click Install. The progress of the installation is displayed.

Optionally, click Show details. The log details of the installation process is displayed. After the installation is complete, the Installation Complete page appears.

The installation log will be saved at the <installation folder>\Noetix\Noetix Enterprise Manager\Cartridges\NoetixViews Workbench location.

Click Next. A message will be displayed stating that the Noetix Views Workbench installation has been completed successfully.

Click Finish. The installation wizard is closed.
