Add Views to a Package

After making the required customizations to the view, the customizations need to be applied to the NoetixViews schema corresponding to the environment. To apply the customizations to a NoetixViews schema, a package is used in the NoetixViews Workbench. The revisions of the views for which the customizations need to be applied to the NoetixViews schema are added to the package. You can add a specific revision or the latest revision of the view to the package. After adding the required view revision to the package, the package needs to be copied to the installation folder of the NoetixViews schema through the staging process.

To add the latest revision of a view to a package

  1. On the Modify View page, select a view that is managed through the NoetixViews Workbench.

  2. Click Add to package. The Add to package dialog box appears.

  3. In the Available packages list, click a package to which you want to add the view, and then click OK. All the available custom packages in the NoetixViews Workbench will be displayed in the list.

IMPORTANT: If the joins in the selected view contain references to custom master keys, and if the package does not include revisions of those views containing the master keys, a warning message will be displayed to indicate that addition of the view to the package requires the addition of view revisions containing the referenced master keys to prevent the failure of Stage 4 or incremental regeneration.

To add a specific revision of a view to a package

  1. On the Modify View page, select a view that is managed through the NoetixViews Workbench.

  2. Under Revisions History, click the entry corresponding to a revision number for the view that you want to add to the package.

  3. Click Add to package. The Add to package dialog box appears.

  4. In the Available packages list, click a package to which you want to add the view, and click OK.
