Create Copies of Views
The feature to copy a view provided in the NoetixViews Workbench can be used to create a custom view based on a source view. This feature is helpful when additional customizations need to be performed on a view by retaining the customizations of the source view.
IMPORTANT: Rowid column-based master keys will not be generated in the copied views if the master keys in the source views are based on the underlying base views. In such cases, the corresponding Z$ columns will also not be generated in the copied views.
To copy a view
On the Modify View page, select a view for which you want to create a copy. For information, see Select a View.
Click Save As. The Save View As dialog box appears.
In the New View Label box, provide a new label for the view, and click OK. Depending on the type of the view that you are copying, one of the following formats will be available for the view label:
If you are creating a copy of a standard view, the <base application> <custom label> format will be available. The base application will be specified by the NoetixViews Workbench and cannot be modified. Provide the custom label for the copied view.
If you are creating a copy of a base view, the <base application> <custom label> Base format will be available. The base application and suffix "Base" will be specified by the NoetixViews Workbench and cannot be modified. Provide the custom label for the copied base view.
If you are creating a copy of a list of values (LoV) view, the <base application> Lov <custom label> format will be available. The base application and "Lov" will be specified by the NoetixViews Workbench and cannot be modified. Provide the custom label for the copied LoV view.
In the list of views, verify the details of the copied view.
IMPORTANT: The view label must be unique within an environment, can have a maximum of 30 characters, and can contain only alphanumeric and underscore characters.
