Using Advanced Search

To perform an advanced search

  1. In the Noetix Search home page, select the instance that you want to search from the Search in list. For more information about how to select an instance, see Selecting an Instance.

  2. Click Advanced Search in the upper-right corner of the Noetix Search home page.

NOTE: Advanced Search can now be accessed from the Noetix Search home page or any object details page.

  1. Type the keyword or phrase in the Keywords box.

  1. Type one or more keywords in the boxes of the All these words area if you want to include certain keywords in the search query.

  1. Type one or more keywords in the boxes of the Not these words area if you want to exclude certain keywords in the search query.

NOTE: An advanced search query will be displayed in the box preceding theAdvanced Search section depending on the keywords that you typed.

  1. In the Search types area, select the object types that need to be searched.

NOTE: The object types are listed based on the instance that you selected from theSearch inlist in the Noetix Search home page. Select theAll Typescheck box if you want to select all the listed object types.

  1. In theResults per pagelist, select the value for the number of results to be displayed in each page. Then, clickAdvanced Search.

NOTE: If you click Advanced Search without specifying any keywords, the search results will return all objects for the selected search types.

  1. Click an object in the list to view the details of the object.

  2. Click Advanced Search in the upper-right corner of the Noetix Search home page.
