Entity-Relationship Diagram
An entity-relationship diagram (ERD) for an object is the graphical representation of the relation between the object and its entities.
Entity-Relationship Diagram for a View
The ERD for a view depicts the view and its related views. In the diagram, the view is displayed at the center, connected to the related views. You can see the view details by clicking Details under the view name. Related master views if any, are displayed to the left of the view and related detail views are displayed to the right of the view. When you click a related master or detail view name, an ERD for that view is displayed. You can view the columns in a view by clicking the icon corresponding to the view and hide the columns by clicking the icon. You can double-click a column name to view the column details page. A tooltip displays the entire column name when you point to a column name. Similarly, you can see the name and description of a related view by pointing to the view name.
Entity-Relationship Diagram for a Relationship Set
The ERD for a relationship set depicts the relationship between fact and dimension field definition folders. This diagram displays the main fact field definition folder at the center surrounded by the related fact and dimension field definition folders. The related fact field definition folders are shaded to distinguish them from related dimension field definition folders. You can view the relationship set details by clicking Details under the main fact field definition folder name. You can view the fields in a fact or dimension field definition folder by clicking the icon corresponding to the folder and hide the relationship set fields by clicking the icon. You can double-click a relationship set field name to view the field details page.
