Manage View Revisions
For a view that is managed through the NoetixViews Workbench, you can see the history and revision details in the Revision History section. The following details are displayed in a list:
Number (* current): Indicates the revision numbers available for the view. The asterisk (*) character indicates the current revision of the view.
Parent: Indicates the parent revision from which the new revision is derived.
Packages used in: Indicates the package to which the view revision is added. If the view revision is not added to any package, the value None is displayed.
Created date: Indicates the date on which the view revision was created.
Created by: Indicates the name of the user who created the view revision.
NOTE: If there are multiple pages in the list, use the navigation controls to navigate through the pages. If you want to sort the list on the basis of a column, click the column label.
To manage revisions of a view
On the Modify View page, select a view that is managed through the NoetixViews Workbench. For information, see Select a View.
Do one of the following:
If you want to list all the customizations performed on the view including those that are not pertaining to the current revision, in the Revision History section, click Show all history.
If you want to list only the relevant parent revisions from which the current view revision is derived, in the Revision History section, click Show only lineage.
To see the description for a revision, click it. The Revision Description section displays the descriptions and changes for the current view revision and the parent view revisions.
If you want to make any view revision as the current revision, do the following:
IMPORTANT: If you replace the current view revision with another revision, all the customizations in the previous view revision will be deleted. Also, revision zero of the view cannot be made the current version.Select the check box corresponding to a view revision, and click Make Current. The Make this revision current dialog box appears.
In the box available on the dialog box, type a revision description, which can contain a maximum of 2,000 characters, and then click OK. A new revision that will reflect the changes available in the selected revision will be created and displayed as the last entry in the list.
If you want add a specific revision of the view to a package, do the following:
IMPORTANT: You cannot add revision zero of a view to a package.Select the check box corresponding to a view revision, and click Add to package. The Add to package dialog box appears.
Select a package to which you want to add the view revision, and click OK.
IMPORTANT: If the joins in the selected view contain references to custom master keys, and if the package does not include revisions of those views containing the master keys, a warning message will be displayed to indicate that addition of the view to the package requires the addition of view revisions containing referenced master keys to prevent the failure of Stage 4 or incremental regeneration.
