Add a Package

A custom package can be created in the NoetixViews Workbench for managing and maintaining the customizations of managed views.

To create a custom package

  1. On the NoetixViews Workbench home page, click Manage Packages. The Manage Packages page appears.

  2. On the page, click Add Package. The Add Package dialog box appears.

  3. In the Name box, enter a name for the new package.

IMPORTANT: The name of the package must be unique within a selected environment. Also, the name must contain only letters, numbers, underscores, periods, and dashes and must not exceed 30 characters.

  1. In the Description box, enter a description for the new package. The description can contain a maximum of 1,000 characters.

  1. Click OK. The package is created and displayed in the list of packages.

  2. Verify the details of the package created in the list. By default, only 10 rows are listed. You can reduce or increase the number of rows depending on the requirement. The following columns are available in the list:

    • Name: Indicates the name of the package.

    • Description: Indicates the description of the package.

    • Updated date: Indicates the date and time when the package was created or was last modified.

    • Updated by: Indicates the person who created the package or last modified the package.

NOTE: If there are multiple pages in the list, use the page navigation controls to navigate through the pages. Also, if you want to sort the list on the basis of a column, click the column label.

Also, a section is displayed for the new package to perform the following tasks:

    • Add custom views to the package.

    • Remove custom views from the package.

    • Compare and update the view revision of a view already added to the package.
