Appendix A

This appendix contains information on the log files related to the Angles for Oracle Generator, and the types of logging that can be configured for the Angles for Oracle Generator.

Logs

Log Files

The following log files related to Angles for Oracle Generator are available:

  • debug.log: This file contains the messages that are logged during the use of the Angles for Oracle Generator, including calls to the Noetix ODBC for Oracle driver. The file is available at %APPDATA%\NoetixConnector\logs. The logging options can be configured through the NoetixConnector-log.config file that is located at <installation folder of Angles for Oracle Generator for Microsoft Power BI>\Noetix\Angles for Oracle Generator for Power BI.
  • loader.log: This file contains the messages that are logged during the loading of metadata through the Noetix Data Source Administrator. The file is available at <installation folder of Angles for Oracle Generator Service>\logs. The logging options can be configured through the AdminUi-log.config file that is located at <installation folder of Angles for Oracle Generator Service>. If the metadata is being loaded at the command line, the logging options can be configured through the CMLoader-log.config file that is located at <installation folder of Angles for Oracle Generator Service>.
  • NoetixGeneratorService.log: This file contains the messages that are logged by the Angles for Oracle Generator Service. The file is available at <installation folder of Angles for Oracle Generator Service>\logs. The logging options can be configured through the NoetixGeneratorService-log.config file that is located at <installation folder of Angles for Oracle Generator Service>.
  • ODBCBridge.log: This file contains the messages that are logged when the Noetix ODBC for Oracle driver is called by a third-party tool such as the Microsoft Power BI Desktop that does not use Apache log4net. The file is available at %APPDATA%\Noetix ODBC for Oracle\logs. The logging options can be configured through the Noetix.GeneratorService.Odbc.Bridge-log.config file that is located at <hard drive>\Program Files\Common Files\Noetix\Noetix ODBC for Oracle\x64 and <hard drive>\Program Files\Common Files\Noetix\Noetix ODBC for Oracle\x86 for the 64-bit and 32-bit versions.

Types of Logging

The following types of logging can be configured for the Angles for Oracle Generator through changes to the log4net/root/level node in the configuration file for each of the four logs:

  • Debug
  • Trace
  • Verbose
  • All

The default logging type is "Debug". You must change the default logging type only if directed by insightsoftwareSupport.
