Angles Hub 24.1 Release Notes

This topic describes the new features, resolved issues, and known issues for Angles Hub 24.1, released in March 2024.

New Features

The new features in Angles Hub 24.1 are as follows:

Support of key flexfields for financials

The support for accounting key flexfields in financial modules reduces implementation time to personalize views and improves efficiency in managing views. This simplifies configuration, eliminates manual view expansion, and enhances data accuracy and usability.

Angles for Oracle-Views supports key flexfields for the following modules:

  • General Ledger (GL)

  • Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Cash Management (CE)

  • Fixed Assets (FA)

  • Expense Management (EXP)

Support of descriptive flexfields for financials

The support of descriptive flexfields for financial modules enhances data customization and analysis capabilities in Oracle Cloud Applications. This feature allows you to capture additional data beyond standard attributes, providing a more comprehensive view of business operations. These flexfields allow you to enrich reporting capabilities andextend data to unlock deeper insights for improved decision-making processes in finance.

Angles for Oracle-Views supports descriptive flexfields for the following modules:

  • General Ledger (GL)

  • Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Cash Management (CE)

  • Fixed Assets Management (FA)

  • Expense Management (EXP)

Row-level security on the supply chain management module views

You can now enforce row-level security on the supply chain management (SCM) views. The enhanced data security for SCM modules secures your SCM reports by inheriting security policies from Oracle ERP Cloud.

Angles for Oracle-Views introduces significant improvements to financial data security within General Ledger Views, ensuring data integrity and adherence to financial controls, thereby enhancing efficiency and trust in financial operations.

Configure Data Security

You can choose to grant unrestricted access to any user to meet their data access needs without inheriting organization security from OCA. This can be achieved by configuring data security in the Angles Hub. Furthermore, you have the flexibility to enable or disable security for users as required.

The Resolved issues in Angles Hub 24.1 are as follows:

Edit Columns tab of business views

While trying to edit any business view, in the Columns tab, if you clicked the Settings icon for any column, an error message similar to the following was displayed:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.' error in UbaViewContoller.EditLovMetdata and is due to a null column name in view.Columns collection.

When you tried to open the Query tab for any business view, the following message was displayed:

Unable to clear the session

Compare versions

When you try to compare different versions of a view on the Version History page, running into the following issues:

  • Empty join conditions

  • Incorrect display of column type and column description

Tableau Server Username in single quotes

If the Tableau Server Username was entered in single quotes in Tableau reports for INITSQL, the report did not function as expected. The single quotes must be manually removed for the report to work as expected.

BI Tool application type appears as Power BI

The BI tool application type appeared as Power BI rather than Tableau when you attempted to edit a previously registered BI tool application of type Tableau with user mappings applied.

Create custom views without Organization Security (XMAP) view

When you tried to create a custom view without Organization Security (XMAP) view, an

error message similar to the following was displayed:

Security table doesn't exist for this connection.

Excel reports with parameters

When you tried to generate an Excel report with a parameter in the report templates, an

error message similar to the following was displayed:

[Expression.Error] The column LEDGER_NAME' of the table wasn't found.

Access data in the Excel reports

When you tried to access data in reports, due to the Simba connector, an error message similar to the following was displayed:

User doesn’t have access to data.

Metadata Synchronization fails with object reference exception.

When you try to deploy a custom view that is already joined with another custom view that is saved but not deployed, an incorrect exception is displayed.

BI generation resulting in failure for HR SI type views

HR SI Type views had issues with metadata, leading to generation issues in various BI tools and causing an error message similar to the following:

A validation query returned one or more records, indicating problems in metadata.

Deploy several HR views

When you tried to deploy the following views a warning message was displayed:

  • HRG0_CAREER_PATH_ELEM

  • HRG0_ORG_HIER_ELEMENT_BASE.
