Create Copies of Queries

You can use the clone option to create a custom query based on a Noetix-defined or custom query. Use this option when you want to perform additional customizations on a query without modifying the source query customizations.

NOTE: A view can contain a maximum of 20 queries. You cannot clone a query if the view already contains 20 queries.

To copy a query

  1. In the NoetixViews Workbench, select a view that you want to modify. For more information, seeSelect a View.

  2. On the Modify View » <view label> page, under View, select Copy, modify & suppress queries, and then select Next. The Modify View » <view label>» Copy, modify & suppress queries page appears showing the list of queries available in the view.

  3. In the query list, select the query for which you want to create a copy.

  4. Select Clone. The Clone As Query <query position> dialog box appears prompting you to confirm the action.

  5. Select Yes. The copied query is added to the list of queries with the state "ADDED".

Note: After copying a query, you can modify, suppress, delete, or further create a copy of the query. For information about how to perform these tasks, see the respective topics under Manage Queries.

  6. In the Customization comments box, provide a summary of the customizations that you have performed. The comment can contain a maximum of 200 characters.

  7. Select Save. The customizations are saved, and the Modify View» <view label> page appears.

Now, you can choose to perform any other customizations on the same view or go to the home page.
